Tribute to my mommy

Dear mommy,

Happy Mother’s Day!!  I love you so, so , sooooo much!!   I think you’re the best mom that anyone could ever, ever ask for.  Let me give some reasons why…..

1 - You’re so selfless – countless numbers of times I can remember you always letting us have things first, while you went last.   Selflessness is so beautiful, and I hope I can be more selfless like you!
2 - You provide an example of Godliness, and seeking to be more like Christ.  I see you reading your Bible every morning!
3 – You seek to be more, and more like the Proverbs 31 woman.  Thanks for looking so well to ‘The ways of your household”.
4 – You are an amazing cook!  I am so taking all of your recipes with me when I get married!  You’ve given me a love for food – because you make it so well!.....Hence why I always race to get to the leftovers first!
5 – You teach me.  You’ve taught me so many things….practical things like how to cook and clean properly.
6 - You home school us.  What a HUGE blessing! If I had to go to public school now, I would surely die!  Thanks for caring so much about our education.
7 – You love us!  We’re so blessed to have such a loving, caring, mama!
8 – You stay at home with us.  Thank you, thank you, thank you! for choosing to stay at home with your kiddos, over having a job.   It’s so awesome. J
9 – You are merciful.  Thank you for having such grace in your parenting!
10 – You’ve raised us in the ways of God. J
11 – You are a Godly and supportive wife.

I am so proud to call you my mommy!  You are one of my best friends (even though I suppose a mother is closer than a friend, really.)  I am so thankful for you and your love for us! Happy Mother’s Day!!
 Love you!!!!!!!

A bit of Mother Teresa

I am in the process of reading through the book, "Something Beautiful For God" by Malcom Muggeridge.  This book is a little bit about the life of Mother Teresa.  Let me just say....she was an amazing woman, so passionately in love with, and sold out for Jesus.  Just reading about her life is contagious....it motivates me to want to love Jesus more.  Let me give you some of her awesome quotes.  They are powerful, so please actually read them (I too, am guilty of skimming through quotes!)

"Love to pray - feel often during the day the need for prayer, and take trouble to pray.  Prayer enlarges the heart until it is capable of containing God's gift of himself.  Ask and seek, and your heart will grow big enough to receive him and keep him as your own."

"Make sure that you let God's grace work in your souls by accepting whatever he gives you, and giving him whatever he takes from you.  True holiness consists in doing God's will with a smile."

"Be kind and merciful.  Let no no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier.  Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting....To children, to the poor, to all who suffer and are lonely, give always a happy smile - Give them not only your care, but also your heart. "

"We learn humility through accepting humiliations cheerfully."

I'm so thankful that God led me too read this book....I hope these quotes encouraged you! :-)
