Welcome to tagging.

I'm going to try something new here. Something I've never done before....it's called tagging. If you guys know what tagging is better than I describe it, feel free to correct me. But as far as I have observed, here are the "rules".
I'm going to start the tag. I will pick a subject (such as '10 things that annoy me'), and list the 10 things in a post. At the end of the list, I'll post the names of however many people the directions say to tag, and leave a comment on their blog telling them I tagged them. So, does that make sense? Let's give it a try...

The rules of this tag are...

  1. Make a list of 11 (in honor of the new year) people, or people groups (i.e. the ___ family) you are thankful for. They must be physical, and alive now.
  2. Tag at least two people and leave a comment on their blog telling them you've tagged them.

  1. My mom
  2. My dad
  3. Josh
  4. My cousins (Ana, Aly, Andrew, and Alivia)
  5. Mikaela
  6. Katie
  7. All my babysit-ties and their families!
  8. Missionaries
  9. Mexican people
  10. CC friends (classical Conversation friends).
  11. Grandparents
(Of course, I have many, many more!!!)

I tag Katie, Callie, and anyone else who wants to participate!! (Please, feel free!!)

We'll see how this goes...

mixed emotions....

My hours of freedom are getting down rather small. It's Sunday, 6:55, which means that I have about 12 hours before my school year routine starts! I am excited about school, esp. about using my new desk and mechanical pencils; but I really have enjoyed this summer.

Gotta go grocery shopping now!

I'm alive!

Good news guys!
I lived through the dentist!(previous post) Even more surprising, I lived through it without getting injured! Let me explain my experience....
We walk into the dentist....it's a nice, cozy little building. We happened to be a few minutes late(cough, cough) but, they were waiting for us and took us back as soon as we showed up. Talk about fast service.
My hygentist asked mama if I had any health issues- now I know they have to ask that question, but seriously lady! Do I look sick??? No! Plus, I'm standing right here, you can ask me! Of course I didn't say that out loud, that's not very Christianly. It's more Christianly for me to come here and talk about her to ya'll, right? (that was sarcasm in case you didn't know!) :)

I go into a little room where I take my seat. After the x-rays and all, she sits down to start the cleaning of my teeth. Not bad so far. But then the masking comes. Normally, the hygentists where little mouth and nose covering things, so they don't breath in bad germs, (I guess). Not this lady. She was fully geared in a mouth, and nose mask, and also a whole facial shield. Literally, she pulled down a huge piece of plexi-glass down over her face, like I'm fixing to breath fire on her!! Yowza!
After I come out of my little room, Josh is sitting on a chair, and asks me, "What did you get in your goody bag?"
I look at him and reply, "um, a red toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. Did you get the same?"
He says, "that's all you got? I got all that, plus a pencil, and a yellow squishy ball. I got to pick something out of the treasure box!"
Not that I really care about pencils and yellow squishy balls, but really....I guess once get older than 12, they move you up to "adult" level. No more pencils, or squishy balls for me!!

The dreaded chair...those horrible masks...and-those weird-keep-you-from-drooling-on-your-clothes-type bib things. It's all summed up in one word- The Dentist. (shudder from author).
I know that dentists are supposed to be nice and sweet(or not so sweet) and all, but really, I mean who likes going to the dentist?? (No offense to any of my readers who are, or know someone who is a dentist) Okay, let me clarify, besides those who like getting their teeth cleaned, who likes the dentist? :)

Naw-really, I'm just kidding. I like the dentist better than the doctor, but anyone who puts me off alone with them in a room, to examine me in some way; creeps me out! I dread this time of year.

Yes, I'm sure you've guessed it by now...I'm going to the dentist, soon. Deep, deep down in my heart of hearts, I am very thankful for the people who accept their job of cleaning my teeth. I mean, if they didn't do it, no one else would! So, (in total contradictory to the first paragraph of my post) I say, let's give it up for dentists!!

I'll (hopefully) update you on my trip to the dentist later!

PS. Please...No one take any offense. If you know me, you'll understand! :)

2009 reflections

Okay guys. 2010 is right around the corner. I mean seriously too. Lets see, in... 3 days!

Looking back over 2009, I see several memorable things that happened.
  • We got a big garden started
  • I had a birthday (does this count?)
  • Lyddie was born
  • Kayden came home
  • First year where my grades in school actually count :)
  • The Lord taught me some interesting things
  • I've grown in my desire for self-sufficiency
  • I sorta-kinda-a little bit- got a VERY small business going (or at least the start of one)
  • I started piano again
  • I got a harp
  • I found my love to play music

I think that covers most of it, but of course I could go on. However, I think that is enough for now.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just musing

I've been thinking lately about something I could blog about, but could find nothing. I'd think to myself..."I really should update my blog...hhmmm, maybe tomorrow??" That's me. I love to read other people's blogs, and I know others feel the same way about mine.(or do they?) Sometimes a problem I have is not knowing what to write about. I mean, my life is anything but boring, I have plenty of things to blog about, but choosing one, and finding a time to do it is just a little challenging!
So... here is my plea(and an urgent one, mind you!)
Tell me what you want to read more of. Anything! Here are some options (but not limited too) to get you going.
  • Daily life
  • Random tags, or fun posts that are random(like me!!)
  • Pictures of random things
  • School thoughts (beware, I may use this to reteach ya'll things! Does Latin sound fun?)
  • My view on Biblical topics (which will be better than it may sound!)
  • Praise to the Lord
  • Recipes
  • Links to good videos, or songs, or my favorite blogs! (hhmmm that gave me an idea!)
  • etc. etc. etc. etc...........................................(you get the point)

Let me know, by leaving a comment, with more than one option please!!

Radiant Purity Conference

This weekend mama and I went to a Radiant Purity Conference, together. We had a great time! The Mally's did a great job, and so did the leader of my group, Abby. She was a wonderful encouragment to me, and I hope we can keep in touch. The whole conference was a really good reinforcement to me, and a great encouragment! This is called a chalk drawing, and Sarah Mally drew it in about 30 minutes. It was amazing to watch her draw, she wasn't even careful and look what she made! It was beautiful!
This is a skit some of the leaders did on stage.

Here is Grace Mally and Sarah Mally(behind the flowers) playing a harp duet. They are very accomplished musicians.

This is Abby, my group leader, who was a wonderful encouragment to me. Thanks Abby, for listening to our endless questions! (This isn't a very good picture of either of us.)

This is Sarah Mally, the beautiful young woman who leads the Conference. Thanks Sarah!

This is Grace, who is a Very sweet young lady, and such an encouragment! Thanks Grace!

This is the church we went to have the conference.

It was an awesome conference. I hope they do one in NC sometime!
This is Grace's blog.... www.tomorrowsforefathers.com . I'm sure she'll be posting pics. soon as well!

Off to the beach!

We had a very fun time at the beach over memorial day weekend! Here, Josh is enjoying his root beer from Carrabba's!
Daddy really enjoyed his soup!

Isn't this a pretty picture? I'm not very good with cameras,(or electronics in general), but I thought this turned out well.

We had a great time with some of our good friends..... The Barts! We ended up staying in the same hotel as them too!(although we didn't know it, until we saw them in the pool, at the hotel!)

DR. Pepper anyone?

I absolutely LOVE that picture of Micah! He is so sweet!
Also, thank you for the cookies mrs. Jen! They Were heavenly!

We really had a great time at the beach, and had fun deeping our relationship with the Barts!
Thanks for being our friends, guys! We love you!

Prayer Challenge

I don't know how many of you are doing the Monday Prayer Challenge, but for those who are, or for those who would like to pray for others, I have come up with something to help you.
I had the idea last night, and started putting together thoughts in my mind for an e-newsletter concerning prayer.
What I need all my readers to do, is think of prayer requests they have, that they do not mind sharing with others. You may also do this with praises, and thanks to God. Then, e-mail me them at,
anchoredinElShaddai@yahoo.com

At the beginning of each new week, (particularly on Mondays), I will write them all down, and do a post on all the praises and prayers I got through the week. I think it will be an encouragement for us to see how God is blessing the other, and also to pray for each other.

When you email me the requests please just label the email either "prayer", or "Praise". Go ahead and write down as many requests as you like!

Feel free to write down prayer requests for others, but make sure you have their permission, if it's personal to them.

If you'd like to share a request me with me you don't want published, please say so in the email.
Leave a comment with any questions!

Praying for you,

Tori L.
