BEST MOM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I don't want to offend anyone that reads this...however, I just have to say it - I HAVE THE BEST MOM EVER!!!! I'm sure everyone will agree that she is an amazing lady, but really...she's the best mom ever. I love her so much. She's so great to home school us and not send us away to public school. She's so great to stay home with us and not go to work everyday. She's so caring and is so much fun to just be with! I love going to the mall or even grocery store with her.

As for the best friend thing, I need not look any further for a friend than my mom. I love you mommy!!!!!!

Happy Mother's Day 2011!

Trip to NY

We had to take an abrupt trip to New York on Tuesday, Feb. 1 because my Great Grandfather died. We found out Monday, and had to leave early Tuesday morning since it is nearly a 13 hour drive there!

My Great grandpa was around 90 years old. I really wish I had a picture of him to share with you. He was a great man, who was very sweet and never said to much-but was always listening. At his funeral service, several people told funny stories and memories about him. It was sad to see my Great Grandma in pain, along with my grandma and her three sisters, but it was also a time of rejoicing over his being in heaven. He was a Christian, and I'm confident that he now knows no pain, or suffering. For those of us who were Christians at the funeral, it was almost like a celebration-for we knew he was more alive and well than he has been in many years. I love you Great Grandpa!!

Now, I thought I'd show you all some pictures of the snow!!! Prepare yourselves to be.....COLD!

Approx. 2 1\2 -3 feet of snow on the picnic table. Josh made a hole and crawled under the table. Snow fun!

A HUGE pile of snow where the snowplow pushed all the snow from the road. Fun to climb on, but way too square-ish to sled down. Also it was mostly ice.

Another giant pile of snow from the snowplow!!

I thought this one was good because you can see how high the snow pile is compared to the truck.
I wish I got better pictures with us in them, but my camera was dead most of the trip. Really, there was so much snow, I was a little overwhelmed. I mean, I'm used to about 8 inches max, so 3 feet was VERY different. You step in the snow and it covers your whole leg up to your knee. That can get cold very quickly!

Overall though, it was fun being in NY. Plus, we got a great sled! Both my parents are from up north, and are used to this type of weather; -hence driving in it doesn't intimidate them too much. Good thing too, as they did it in this trip quite often. Fun....very fun!!

Welcome to tagging.

I'm going to try something new here. Something I've never done before....it's called tagging. If you guys know what tagging is better than I describe it, feel free to correct me. But as far as I have observed, here are the "rules".
I'm going to start the tag. I will pick a subject (such as '10 things that annoy me'), and list the 10 things in a post. At the end of the list, I'll post the names of however many people the directions say to tag, and leave a comment on their blog telling them I tagged them. So, does that make sense? Let's give it a try...

The rules of this tag are...

  1. Make a list of 11 (in honor of the new year) people, or people groups (i.e. the ___ family) you are thankful for. They must be physical, and alive now.
  2. Tag at least two people and leave a comment on their blog telling them you've tagged them.

  1. My mom
  2. My dad
  3. Josh
  4. My cousins (Ana, Aly, Andrew, and Alivia)
  5. Mikaela
  6. Katie
  7. All my babysit-ties and their families!
  8. Missionaries
  9. Mexican people
  10. CC friends (classical Conversation friends).
  11. Grandparents
(Of course, I have many, many more!!!)

I tag Katie, Callie, and anyone else who wants to participate!! (Please, feel free!!)

We'll see how this goes...

A new experience- Drivers (d)E(a)D Part 1.

Interesting title, ah? Obviously, I'm learning how to drive, and hence I've had to take driver's Ed. (or Driver's dead). It wasn't the most horrible experience ever, I mean I'm alive and well right now.

In order to get my licence, I have to get my permit. In order to get my permit, I have to do three things:

  1. Sit through 36 hours of class time to teach you about driving and take a 200 question test about it.

  2. Get my eyes checked

  3. Drive for 6 hours with an instructor.

So, I did NOT want to sit through 36 hours of class time!! But the good side to number 1 is that they make you take the test first, and if you score at least an 80%, you don't have to take the class. However, may I remind you that the test is 200 questions long! My friend (who is very smart;- yes that's you Katie) took the test and told me that she barely passed (At least I think that is the way it went). Needless to say, I was very nervous.

I am also very uncomfortable in public schools. Especially public high schools. I guess it's because I've been home schooled all me life.

To sum the test up, I passed, and I was VERY relieved! Next step; eyes checked....

Easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next step......DRIVING!!

Guess what?...I'm alive!

I have lived through another dentist trip! It's wonderful news, and since my last post, I've completely changed my opinion of the dentist. But that's only because I like MY dentist.

However, I'm clean, cavity free, and have a mouth full of baby teeth. What could be worse? :)
